Tom Forde is the Chief Executive Officer of Tanarra Philanthropic Advisors. He started his professional career at PwC, working in both audit and consulting to the Not-for-profit, Government and Corporate sectors. During his time in PwC’s Sustainability consulting team, Tom furthered his interest in the complementary nature of commercial and social responsibility and developed a passion for providing advice that enhances both of these outcomes harmoniously.
Prior to dedicating himself to Tanarra Philanthropic Advisors, Tom worked at BHP in a variety of roles spanning Sustainability & Public Policy, Asset Planning, Strategy & Governance, Corporate Affairs and Health, Safety, Environment and Community. Tom also spent two years leading their Corporate Sustainability Performance and Reporting division where he had a strong focus on the transparency and improvement of BHP’s Corporate Social Responsibility performance.
Tom graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours from Monash University where he also held a sport scholarship and represented the university’s sport program as Monash Team Captain. Tom now keeps active through regular games of basketball and golf. Outside of sport, Tom has maintained a keen interest in teaching others, be it through running school holiday clinics, tutoring students, basketball coaching or mentoring young professionals.
Through participation in community and social impact assessments over his career, Tom has a deep appreciation for the positive impact that charities can make. He firmly believes, that by leveraging the experience and skills within Tanarra, that these impacts can be enhanced even further.
